1930's

The 1930's were the years of transition from imperfect principles of direct amplification (radios series B4, E4S, EKL etc.) to superheterodynes. The latter worked on metallic tubes and ensured characteristics capable of tuning to powerful R-stations all over the world using an outer aereal. Among those we can site 6N1, SVD of different models, which became mass receivers for urban listeners. Battery radios, such as RPK, BI-234 etc. also existed for areas having no AC network. Crystal sets were also produced at the time.
